CAL CONDUIT PRODUCTS ANNOUNCES EXPANDED CALBRITE STAINLESS STEEL LINE
Cal Conduit Products is showcasing new additions to the Calbrite line of UL-listed and UL-compliant stainless steel conduit, conduit bodies, fittings, sweeps and elbows at the Las Vegas Electric West show. Already the most complete line of listed and compliant stainless products in the market, Calbrite now features a proprietary three-piece coupling in trade size 1/2-inch through 4 inches. Also new are additional clamps, strapping and other accessories.
“With the addition of this new three-piece coupling, bare and coated flexible conduit, and numerous accessories, we have a market-leading package of corrosion-resistant UL products,” says Dan Markus, President of Cal Conduit Products. The Calbrite line was introduced just over a year ago, and already Calbrite stainless steel conduit and conduit products have been installed at hundreds of locations across the U.S. and Canada. These installations include food and beverage plants, oil and gas facilities, and chemical plants.
“All our conduit bodies and fittings are made from 316 stainless steel, which is incredibly corrosion-resistant in demanding environments,” says Markus. “By polishing our conduit to the bright Calbrite finish as part of our standard manufacturing process, we further reduce the chance of pitting and oxidation that could give a foothold to corrosion and compromise the product. We meet or exceed all current UL and NEMA standards, and will continue to. Stainless steel is very cost-effective when you consider the life cycle savings in highly corrosive environments such as wastewater treatment, mining and industrial, pulp and paper mills, and so on,” adds Markus. “Stainless steel offers clear advantages over PVC-coated materials, economically and environmentally. It is easier to install, has an expected installed life of up to three times longer, and doesn’t produce life-threatening fumes in the event of fire. In short, stainless steel is growing in importance in the industry, and Calbrite is leading the way.”
Cal Conduit Products is a UL-listed manufacturer based in Southern California, and the Calbrite line is sold only through electrical wholesalers.
